This Australian chicken meat industry data platform has been developed to collect the relevant information to underpin whole-of-industry reporting against the Australian Chicken Meat Industry Sustainability Framework. The platform has been co-designed with key industry stakeholders, including the Australian Chicken Meat Federation, processing companies, and contract grower representatives.
The purpose of this platform is to collect and aggregate information to effectively communicate the industry's sustainability credentials, demonstrating the positive contribution of Australian chicken meat. By actively measuring and transparently reporting sustainability metrics, we will continue to showcase our leadership and commitment to building a sustainable, healthy future for the planet and for generations to come. Through clear and compelling communication, we aim to ensure that consumers, customers, and regulators fully understand the positive impact of our industry on both the environment and Australia's food security.

Data Security Overview
This industry data portal is based on a zero trust approach where all data has a multilayer security model. The model is based on the security framework that assumes no user, device, or network is inherently trustworthy, and requires constant verification for every access attempt. All requests to access data are logged against the user and requesting system Globally Unique Identifiers. This solution ensures that there is full audit trail of all data requests.
Data is held is a secure SQL database that is layer removed from any direct external access. All requests to add, edit or access data are through secure application programming interface end points that require authentication on each request. In practice this means that the website requests to access data must be fully authenticated and placed through the application programming interface and the provided data must be applicable and directly linked to the authorised user. All website URL requests require the Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) which is the encrypted version of the standard HTTP protocol used to transfer data between a web browser and a website. The Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) ensures the privacy and security of data by using encryption through SSL/TLS (Secure Sockets Layer/Transport Layer Security) to prevent eavesdropping and man-in-the-middle attacks.
The system security model is built on a User, Person, Role and Location (UPRL) relationship where each element of the User, Person, Role and Locations are abstracted to Globally Unique Identifiers. This approach restricts “Identity Spoofing” as the combination of the valid sets of UPRL Globally Unique Identifiers is based on a 144 character session security identifier.
All system infrastructure and applications are hosted on a secure Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud computing platform to ensure a high level of security and system availability. The industry solution is located behind the AWS CloudFront that offers the security features of DDoS protection via AWS Shield and application-level protection with AWS WAF.
